Tottenville residents walked the Staten Island shoreline with the New York Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery to visualize how the Living Breakwaters and the Tottenville Shoreline Protection Project are being designed to increase resilience, improve the environment, and enhance social engagement. The walk helped residents visualize the heights of the proposed shoreline treatments and breakwaters. Both projects’ designers and sponsors heard input as they move toward final design, including residents’ concerns about long-term maintenance.
