The City continues to refine the new plan for ESCR, including ecology and upland drainage. This month the City presented to the CB3 Parks committee and NYCHA Resident Association leaders. As part of the mitigation for closing the park during construction, the City announced that it will transform the derelict LaGuardia Bathhouse into a synthetic turf field. Meanwhile, The East River Alliance, a new organization led by community members, has formed to work with the city on design, ecology, mitigation and stewardship for East River Park.
