The Hudson Reporter: In a presentation Thursday night, Sept. 8, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the city of Hoboken announced Rebuild by Design “Alternative 3” as the preferred approach to making the city more flood resistant.

The recommended alternative calls for construction of a flood resistance structure stretching from 19th Street in Weehawken and extends south into Hoboken slightly inland from the river with an additional resistance structure on the southern end of Hoboken. The alternative will prevent 85 percent of Hoboken’s flooding during 100 year storm surges like Hurricane Sandy.Read more>>
