SCAPE TEAM’S KATE ORFF TO DIRECT COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY’S URBAN DESIGN PROGRAM

Congratulations to Kate Orff, selected as the next director of Columbia University’s urban design program, within the school’s Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. Orff will take the reins of the program in June 2015, replacing Richard Plunz, an expert in urban housing issues who has been director since 1992. A principle at SCAPE/Landscape Architecture, Kate led the SCAPE Team of Rebuild by Design to develop their winning project Living Breakwaters, which will transform the southern tip of Staten Island into a more resilient community. We look forward to continuing our academic collaborations with Kate through her new appointment.
