REBUILD HOSTS FINAL WORKSHOP IN ATHENS

In late September, Rebuild hosted a workshop with the City of Athens to present and receive feedback on the long term vision for Lycabettus Hill. Over 35 stakeholders that have been engaged at earlier stages of the process were invited to learn how their feedback would be incorporated into project proposals and the final plan to revitalize the Hill.

The two local universities responsible for drafting the integrated plan – National Technical University & Agricultural University of Athens – presented their proposals using four themes: accessibility, transportation, programming, and ecological preservation. After each thematic presentation, participants were asked for input on proposals ranging from alternative modes of transportation to reach the Hill to the types of activities that could occur in specific zones on the Hill. At the end of the workshop, each break-out group presented their key takeaways from the integrated plan and further questions to consider as the framework plan becomes finalized.
