We are Building an Equitable Recovery!
And we cannot do it without the help of you. For the past six weeks, The Boulder County Board of Commissioners with support from the Knight Foundation and the Community Foundation Boulder County, partnered with community leaders with deep reach throughout the County. Through a series of events, surveys, and conversations, we asked members of our community their ideas on how to help direct the $63.3 million in COVID relief to the people who need it most.
We are happy to report that we reached our goal of 1500 surveys and more than 30 community events! It's been a tremendous process hearing from our neighbors and we thank you for participating,
We also want to thank our partners Boulder County Arts Alliance, the Human Services Alliance of Boulder County, Front Range Community College, Peak to Peak Housing and Human Services Alliance, the Northwest Chamber Alliance, and Rebuild by Design for their hard work in this process.
The feedback from the survey and events are one way in which community members can help inform the decision on how to use the ARPA funds. These results will be published this fall and will be complemented by community conversations, engagement events, reports, and other data sources to inform a second round of engagement to dive deeper into the areas of greatest need.

We look forward to sharing the results with you soon.
The pandemic has impacted all of our lives, in some cases very tragically. And though the pandemic’s impacts have been widespread, the health and economic impacts have not fallen equally among different communities. The pandemic further exposed historical inequities in Boulder County- disparities in health and economic outcomes by race, ethnicity, age, gender, geography, physical ability, sexual orientation and other factors.
To ensure Boulder County's recovery from COVID is equitable and durable, the Boulder County Board of Commissioners is embarking on a public process to hear the ideas of all community members. These ideas will inform how the County uses its share of federal funding to best address the needs of individuals most affected by COVID-19. You can learn more about what the federal funding can support here.
In order to develop an understanding of these needs, the Boulder County Board of Commissioners with support from the Knight Foundation and the Community Foundation Boulder County, has partnered with community leaders with deep reach throughout the County. Through a series of events, surveys, conversations, and engagement sessions from now until October, the effort will give residents, businesses, workers, and students the opportunity to inform the County’s decision on how to use the federal funding to not only recover, but to ensure that Boulder County is able to withstand future setbacks.
Here's how to get involved:

Using the feedback and other inputs, the Boulder County Board of Commissioners will then determine where the County’s greatest needs exist. Future community engagement work will focus on more detailed ideas on programs, policies, and projects to meet those identified needs.
Our community has faced tremendous hardships. Your ideas will help determine how federal dollars will be spent to help you and your loved ones recover from COVID and the subsequent economic downturn.
