About Rebuild by Design Bridgeport
In 2014, the City of Bridgeport and its Design Team – led by Waggonner and Ball – were selected by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to work together on the development of a waterfront resilience plan through the Rebuild by Design Competition. The resulting award of $10 million will be used to develop a plan for reducing flood risk and improving resilience for the South End and Black Rock areas, and to build a pilot project in the South End that serves as a catalyst for full implementation of the broader flood protection and resilience strategies. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the State of Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH) through the Community Development Block Grant- Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Program. Learn more »
