EXPLORATORIUM DISCUSSION: DESIGNING FOR CHANGE IN THE BAY AREA

October 6, 2016

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm

Exploratorium, Pier 15, Fisher Bay Observatory Gallery
Embarcadero at Green Street
San Francisco, CA
United States

In the coming decades, the Bay Area will be grappling with several major challenges, including sea level rise and other impacts of climate change, continuing population growth, and deteriorating or outdated infrastructure systems. How can we develop solutions for the large and complex issues of the Bay Area’s future? How can we reframe these problems as opportunities for innovation?

Join urban designers Gabriel Kaprielian and Nate Kauffman, and Rebuild Director, Amy Chester, for a discussion of how we can use speculative design to facilitate more productive discussions about the future, and how we can envision a more resilient and sustainable Bay Area.

Free, RSVP required. Email reserve@exploratorium.edu, or call 415.528.4444 and choose option 5
