BUILDING FORWARD LA | BUILDING THE FUTURE: PANEL DISCUSSION

The March 23 kickoff knowledge exchange for BUILDING FORWARD LA challenged experts from across the engineering, architecture, building, and regulatory spectrum to imagine what they want our buildings to be in the future, and to think critically about what’s needed to get there.

On April 25, we invite you to continue the conversation with a presentation of some of the region’s most advanced buildings from their project teams. We’ll hear about their forward-thinking design ambitions, and find out how the built reality compares. In discussion of these cases, we’ll identify opportunities for building rules and process to encourage innovation in design, engineering, and construction.

Presenters include:

  • Skidmore, Owings & Merrill on the US Courthouse in Downtown LA
  • Plenary Edgemoor Civic Partners on the Long Beach Civic Center (invited)
  • Jeff Landreth, tk1sc Collaborative & Mike Nesbit, Morphosis Architects on the Private Residence of Thom Mayne
